Giveaways Galore!

I really enjoy reading about all the things that you are all making in your classrooms, but I can't seem to get motivated right now. I still don't have a job for the next school year. I have applied to every open position in my certification area and I haven't even been called for an interview. The districts get thousands of applicants for just one position. I try to think positively, but sometimes it just gets to me. Please think positive thoughts for me....I appreciate it!

It seems like there are many giveaways going on currently (including my own!). Click on the pictures below to enter each one!!! Don't miss out!

Our Trip to Buffalo & Giveaway!

My husband and I made it to Buffalo with our two dogs and cat safely. It took us about 36 hours and we only slept for three hours. Thankfully, the pets slept almost the entire time. Now that I'm in Buffalo I have to keep reminding myself of where I actually am. Sometimes I have to remind myself that, OK it's not 100 degrees outside, there are no palm trees, and there probably won't be an hour-long thunderstorm that goes away mid-afternoon. It's a nice feeling that this is not just a visit and that I can see my family (including my adorable little niece) all the time now.

Here are a few pictures from our journey:

I'm starting my summer job as a teacher aide in an exceptional education program after next week. I'm not sp. ed. certified, so I can't work as a teacher. I'm also still looking for a job in the fall. Anyone have any connections in Buffalo? :)

I'm also still working on my 100+ follower giveaway. Perhaps that's something I'll work on while my hubby is busy watching the EURO game later. Until then, check out this great giveaway from The Tattooed Teacher!

Stick a fork in me! I'm done!

For the past three days, I have been going through file folders, papers, bags, and crates. I've been organizing everything into binders. I ran into a huge problem yesterday though. I ran out of plastic page protectors! I had to start filing them behind the dividers until I can get more. Since I'm moving on Saturday, I can't really afford any added expenses right now. I'm not 100% done, but I'm mostly done. Only a small pile stands between me and crossing it off my to-do list!!!

I filled 11 binders!
These are the biggest ones! Some of them couldn't hold anything else.
I like how they fit perfectly on top of this rolling cart. The drawers are filled with extra class copies. I'm going to have to add something to the front of the drawers though. They need cutesifying!
These are one of the baggies inside the drawers. Each bag is separated by theme.
I also need to print some more binder covers and spine labels. I only have my iPad right now, so that will have to wait! I had to give my laptop back to the school and my desktop is being fixed (in case you were wondering).

These are the covers I will have:

1. August/September, October, November
2. December, January, February
3. March, April, May/June
4. Reading Comprehension Skills
5. Phonics
6. Grammar & Language Arts
7. Frogs
8. Insects
9. Weather
10. Guided Reading
11. Word Study

My Empty Classroom :(

There's something about an empty classroom that makes one feel sad. After four years of love, laughs, and learning, I have officially moved everything out of my classroom. If you've been following my posts, you would know that I am moving back to my hometown of Buffalo, NY from South Florida. I don't have a job for the next school year and that's a scary thought. I know there is a plan for me though and I have to keep thinking positively that I will have a teaching job again. People don't really move to Buffalo, so the job market in education is extremely competitive! On top of that, there are about eight colleges with teacher education programs.

Alright, now for some happy stuff! I just reached 100 followers, so I will totally have to have a giveaway soon!!! It won't be until next week after my move and things have settled down though. In the meantime, here are two great giveaways to enter.

Beach & Pool Kids + GIVEAWAY!

We made these Beach & Pool Kids from Deanna Jump's Ocean Unit during the last week of school. It was a long project which made it perfect for this time of year. First, we completed the graphs and analyzed the data. Only one kid liked swimming in the ocean while everyone else chose pool. I thought that was interesting since we live next to the Atlantic, but I would have chosen pool too. I don't like the saltwater. I'm sure I won't be saying that once I move back to Buffalo next weekend though.

Here are some pictures of our glyphs!

We had to take a break to go to PE so this is what my classroom looked like!

Last, but certainly not least, Lori at Teaching With Love and Laughter is having a B-I-G 500 Follower Give-a-way!!! Click here to check it out!!!

Happy Sunday! :)

Binder Organization

I'm still not done with reorganizing all of my files, but I have about 1/3 of it done! I have been super busy packing up my room. I have been leaving work after 6 pm every night, my feet are throbbing, and I'm exhausted. Tomorrow is the last day of school (half day), but it's bittersweet because I'm saying goodbye to all of my students for the last time. Here are some photos of one of my binders:

I recycled my file folders by cutting them, punching holes in them, and using them as dividers. This way, I can see the tabs past the plastic sheet protectors (unlike most dividers)!

This is all of the stuff that I took home from my classroom. I think I'm a basket hoarder!

Hope you all have a great night!
