Monday Made-It

I'm so happy with the way that my sister's photo board came out that I'd like to share it with you all for 4th Grade Frolics' "Monday Made It!!!

During summer school, my sister had her photos taped onto the wall. When she decided on a polka dot theme for her school classroom, I happened to find this at Walgreens for $5.00!!

They had purple and teal at this particular Walgreens, so I decided on the teal for her. By the way, they also had zebra print ones as well!!

I attached thin white & black ribbon to the back with hot glue and scotch tape, then hot glued the polka dot bow on. Finally, I cut the bottom of the bow to make it more decorative. Here is the finished product!

Let me tell you that bows are really hard to make and I have to make another one for her classroom rules tomorrow!!! We should hopefully have her classroom completed by tomorrow as well.  Fingers crossed!

Freebie Friday!!

I've been enjoying the great freebies I have downloaded from Freebie Friday so much that I had to get in on the action!! And I also {gasp!} posted twice today because of this!! Oh well, I couldn't resist!! :)

My freebie is a making words activity using the letters in "pencils". It's perfect for grades 1-3. Just click the picture to download it from TpT. Hope you enjoy!

Be sure to check out {Blog Hoppin}'s linky so you can check out Freebie Friday too!!!

Where I Teach Wednesday (2 Days Late!)

Despite the fact that I currently don't have a home classroom, I'm linking up the pictures of my frog themed classroom from last year and also my sister's polka dot classroom from this year. Her room isn't done yet, but I'll show you what we have done so far!

Click the picture below to check out my frog themed classroom!

Here are some of the pictures from my sister's classroom. She teaches a special ed class and only has four students!

It's amazing how much better a teacher desk can look!

This is my favorite! I bought her the photo board from Walgreen for $5.00 and added the black and white ribbon.

This the back of the room. On the left is her unfinished calendar board and in the middle is her "anti-bullying" board. That was the hardest bulletin board I have ever had to make. I had to cut around not one, but two electrical outlets and a soap dispenser!!

These tubs will hold her clip boards and white boards. The tubs came from Wal Mart and the sticky letters and polka dots are from Dollar Tree! The smaller tubs are from Target in the Dollar Spot.

Here is a view of the front of the room. This is still a work in progress. The left board is a math board and the right is for the bell schedule and classroom rules. We are definitely making her rules on polka dot ribbon though!

This her classroom library currently. We decorated the two pillars with reading genres.

Finally, this is her table by the door for homework, mailboxes, etc. The table cloth is from Target too.

I'll be sure to post updated photos when we get them! School doesn't start up here until Sept. 6th. I'm just happy that I at least got to partake in some classroom decorating this year. Be sure to check out everyone's classroom pictures at {Blog Hoppin'}.

The Magical Product Swap!!

MrsStanfordsClass

A few weeks back, Jessica from Mrs. Stanford's Class came up with the idea to pair bloggers up and review a product from their TpT store. Check out her blog for links to many other product reviews from other bloggers!

I was paired up with the fabulous Angelia from Extra Special Teaching.

Let me say that I was very happy that I was paired up with Angelia because I think that her and I have very similar ideas when it comes to creating activities for our classrooms. It took me awhile to choose just one product from her store, but I decided to choose her "Cruisin' Through Confusing Words" game.

One of the reasons that I chose this game was because it's such an original idea. It never dawned on me to create a game with a specific focus on words that students often misread for other words. Some of the word pairs included in this game are:
would & could
us & use
saw & was

I also love these cards that make the game more interesting!
-Flat tire. Lose a turn.
-Car broke down. Lose a turn.
-Pump gas. Draw again.

This product was easy to view on the computer, print, laminate, and cut!! If you're looking for a great game that's quick to put together, this is the one! Plus, it's only $2.00!!!!

Be sure to blog hop over to Angelia's blog to check out all of her other wonderful ideas and her {TpT store} as well. She has some great freebies available on top of all her other low priced activities!!! She also reviewed my Dolch Words Sight Word Games. You can read all about it {here}!!
